Who We Are

A Heart for the City, In the Heart of the City

Located in downtown Decatur, we believe God is where the people are. Being in the heart of the city allows us to connect with individuals on their daily paths—whether they’re heading to work, grabbing coffee, shopping, or seeking a place to rest. We know God sees and knows each person’s story, and we are here to greet and partner with Jesus in changing lives, one person at a time.


Why Renaissance Exists

Having experienced the transforming power of Jesus Christ in our own lives, the Renaissance community strives to create an environment where both the "un-churched" and "de-churched" feel welcomed and accepted. We gather weekly to share powerful stories of courage and sacrifice, knowing that these stories can change lives—ours and others’.

    We value the power and authority of the Living Word of God and the life-changing effects it has. Therefore, our community has been founded on the principles discovered within the Bible.

    We value the training and releasing of leaders. Therefore, we strive to equip people to lead and try to afford them opportunities to practice and grow, even by encouraging learning through failing.

    We value the importance of passionate, sometimes intimate, extended times of worship. Therefore, during our worship services we leave time to experience God both individually and corporately.
